A Clinical Trial on U-S in Chronic Hepatitis

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical and biochemical effects on U-S capsule in chronic
hepatitis (chronic persistant hepatitis and chronic active hepatitis). All cases observed were given the daily
dose of three capsules and were followed up until ten weeks of treatment. The results were as follows:
1. Improvement rate in each subjective manifestation showed in easy fatigability 81.5%, anorexia 77.8%, malaise 88.0%, nausea and vomiting 64.0%.
2. Before and after ten weeks of administration of U-S, biochemical parameters such as GOT, GPT & total bilirubin showed to be improved within date of clinical trial statistically. Total cholesterol was significantly improved at the ten weeks of administration.
3. As the untoward side effect of U-S, diarrhea was noticed in two cases, itching was one case and nausea was one case. Otherwise there was no physical or laboratory abnormalities observed during or after administration.
In conclusion U-S preparation appears to be effective and safe for the treatment of patients with chronic hepatitis.
